Course description
Basic comprehension and expression of American Sign Language (ASL), the language used by the Deaf community in the United States. ASL vocabulary, grammar, and pragmatics are taught through lecture, conversation, and storytelling. The direct experience method (using ASL with no voice) is utilized to enhance the learning process. Prerequisites: none.
