Course description
Immerses beginning students into critical social work theory and social justice practice from a strengths-based perspective, emphasizing diversity/ethics/values/knowledge relative to clients and human service setting in a frontier state, emphasizing a system's framework. Requires beginning mastery of engagement, assessment, intervention, and evaluation.
Section information
Applies social work skills, values, and knowledge to a range of human service settings in a rural state. Emphasis is on generalist practice models and skills within a systems' framework. Covers engagement, assessment, intervention, and evaluation across all system levels. Addresses ethics and diversity throughout the course. Prerequisite: admission into the MSW program. On-site meetings in Laramie, WY on Sep 1-2, Sep 22-23, Oct 13-14, Nov 11-4, and Dec 1-2. This section is reserved for Outreach distance students.
