Course description
Surveys details of American jazz music from the turn of the century to present. Acquaints students with basic jazz materials, techniques and styles, as well as work of selected jazz masters and their work. For graduate credit, students must present extra paper or project determined by instructor. Prerequisite: consent of instructor.
