Course description

Globalization accelerates urbanization processes and creates a new type of city: the global city. This course investigates the debates over global cities, urban culture, new urban landscapes, urban planning practices, and social disparity. Using case studies from around the world, this class explores the diversity of global city formation processes. Dual Listed with INST 5560; cross listed with GEOG 4560. Prerequisites: 9 hours of international studies or geography.
