Course description

Covers basic concepts of geology and field techniques emphasizing interpretation of geologic features in the field and constructing geologic products (e.g. measured sections and geologic maps). Students are expected to be able to identify the common rock forming minerals and common rocks in hand-sample. Weekly field trip required. Prerequisites: Completion of a GEOL course or concurrent enrollment. (Normally offered the first half of the fall semester)
