Course description
Designed to enrich students’ understanding of cultural contexts of children and families. Issues to be explored will include cultural values, learning styles, acquisition of concepts of race and ethnicity, bi-lingualism, the theory of bi- cultural/bi-cognitive development, and effective communication and problem-solving strategies that apply in multiple professional settings. Prerequisites: FCSC 2121 or PSYC 2300 or FCSC 2131.
