Course description
Physical properties of semiconductor materials and devices, including crystal lattices and energy bands, carrier generation, transport, and recombination. PN, metal-semiconductor, and heterojunction operation. Field Effect Transistors, including Metal Oxide Semiconductor (MOSFET), Junction (JFET), Metal Semiconductor (MESFET), and High Electron Mobility (HEMT) transistors. Bipolar Junction (BJT) and Heterojunction (HBT) Transistor operation. Cross listed with PHYS 4340. Prerequisite: PHYS 1220 or PHYS 1320.
