Course description
This course focuses on the pedagogical content knowledge and instructional and assessment practices that will prepare students to implement research-based reading and writing instruction for students in grades 3-6. Key topics include advanced word recognition, reading fluency and comprehension, vocabulary, and writing. This course requires an elementary literacy practicum. Prerequisite: Prerequisites: 2.75 cumulative and 2.5 content GPA; C or better in EDST 3100, EDST 3101 and EDEL 3720; AND concurrent enrollment in EDEC 4209, EDEL 4109 and EDEL 4410.
