Course description

This course examines educational issues and the social foundations shaping education in the United States, emphasizing education in social contexts. Educators and other learners analyze learner characteristics and contextual influences on teaching and learning through historical, sociological, cultural, philosophical, and pedagogical issues. The course also examines competing perspectives influencing policy, curriculum, and practice.
