Course description

Key problems of environmental degradation and natural resource scarcity are identified. Main underlying causes of misuse and overuse are explained from an economics perspective. Policy options for improved management are presented. These economic concepts and tools are then applied to current real-world environment and natural resource issues. ECON 1010, ECON 1020, MATH 2200 (or MATH 2350), STAT 2050 or STAT 2070 strongly recommended, and sophomore class standing.
