Course description

Site characterization, laboratory shear tests and determination of soil properties. Analyses include bearing capacity, stress distribution and settlement. Design of shallow and deep foundations in accordance with Load and Resistance Factor Design (LRFD) method. Construction control of deep foundations using static and dynamic methods. Prerequisite: CE 3600.
