Course description
Criteria controlling geometric design of highways including design speed, design volume, vehicle requirements, and capacity design standards for different highway types; design of sight distance, alignment, grade; cross-section design; access control, frontage roads; intersection design elements; and design of intersections and interchanges. CE 5555 students are required to do an additional integrated design term project using design software. Students may not receive credit for both CE 4555 and CE 5555. Dual listed with CE 5555. Prerequisite: CE 3500.
