Course description

Examines social institutions, such as mass media, education, science and medicine, foster care, religion, and the criminal justice system, and investigates historical and contemporary examples of the violence and harm that can occur within them. Readings and assignments emphasize critical thinking, analyzing multiple forms of media, and building research skills. Prerequisite: USP COM1
